Dive into the work required to bring Arenas to life in Volume 1 of our Behind the Scenes Features. This video features the reality of the 3D environments that required hours of re-design to be portrayed in higher detail. We also get a view into the character model design and the animation and lighting work that goes into the project.

Environment design was done by Joe Goss, and his brother, Jeff Goss. They have worked together on various projects since 1996, all Quake universe related. The character models were designed and updated by Kevin George, Tim Appleby, and Eric Spitler Jeff Goss handled the rigging seen in this video, and Joe Goss has been the animation lead.

This video shows us several behind the scene shots of characters that appear in Episode 0, such as the Cacodemon, Revenant, and a lot of the phobos world. Not only the models and wireframes are shown, but the texturing work that complicates each model into the living\breathing characters we enjoy. We also get more insight into animation cycles, the frame by frame animation method, and the money that was invested to bring Arenas to life.
